The fiction certificate confirms that your previous residence status is temporarily deemed to continue while your application for the issuance or extension of a residence permit is still being processed by the authority.

What Is a Fictitious Certificate?

  • The fictitious certificate is an official document issued when you have applied for an extension or a new residence permit in good time before your current title expires, but the authority has not yet decided on the application.
  • It certifies that your previous residence status, or your existing rights, such as the right to work, is deemed to continue until the authority makes a decision.

  • No disadvantages from the authority's processing time: Delays at the authority do not negatively affect your residence status.

  • You held a valid residence permit
  • The application for extension or a new residence permit was filed in good time before the previous title expired.
  • The immigration authority has not yet decided on the application.
